When to go to Rwanda

The trails are drier and less slippery, which makes hiking much easier and safer.
Gorilla trekking is still possible throughout the year, but during the rainy months, the forest paths can become steep, muddy, and more challenging to walk through. This can make the experience more physically demanding, especially in mountainous areas.
Another good time to visit Rwanda is between January and February. During these months, the weather is generally warm during the day and cooler in the evenings, especially in high-altitude areas like Kigali, Lake Kivu, Volcanoes National Park, and Nyungwe Forest National Park. In lower areas such as Akagera National Park, the weather is hotter but still comfortable for safari activities.
