Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Welcome to Rwanda

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a professional driver-guide from Journeys Miles Expeditions. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Kigali.

After check-in, you will receive a short briefing about your safari, including important guidelines and what to expect during your trip. The rest of the day is free for relaxation after your journey. Overnight stay at your hotel in Kigali.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will start your day with a guided city tour of Kigali. You will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you will learn about Rwanda’s history and the events of 1994.

You will also explore local markets and other interesting places in the city. After lunch, you will begin your journey to Volcanoes National Park.

The drive takes you through beautiful green hills and rural landscapes, which give Rwanda its name, “The Land of a Thousand Hills.” Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and relax for the evening.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. You will be guided by experienced rangers who will explain the rules and safety measures.

You will then enter the forest in search of a gorilla family. The trekking time can take a few hours or longer, depending on the location of the gorillas. The walk may be challenging, but the experience is very rewarding.

Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour observing them, taking photos, and enjoying this unique moment in nature. After the trek, you will return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will visit a local community for a cultural experience. This walk allows you to meet local people, learn about their daily lives, and see how tourism supports community development. Overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking and Departure

After breakfast, you will go for golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park. These playful and active monkeys are easy to spot and offer a fun and exciting experience in the forest.

After the trek, you will return to the lodge, check out, and begin your journey back to Kigali. Depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure.
