Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by a professional guide from Journey Smiles Expeditions. You will then be transferred to Kigali Serena Hotel.

After check-in, you will have time to relax after your journey. You can enjoy the hotel facilities, take a swim, or have a meal at the restaurant. This day is mainly for rest and preparation for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will go for a guided city tour of Kigali. During this tour, you will visit important cultural and historical sites, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial. You will also explore local markets and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the city.

After the tour, you will have lunch and then transfer to Volcanoes National Park, which is about a 2–3 hour drive.

On arrival, you will check in at the luxury Singita Kwitonda Lodge. The lodge offers beautiful views of the Virunga Mountains and provides a peaceful and comfortable stay. You will relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Visit

You will wake up early and head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park.

With the help of experienced guides, you will walk through the forest in search of a gorilla family. Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact. This is a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience.

After the trek, you will return to the lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon, you will visit the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village, where you will learn about traditional Rwandan life, music, and dance.

You will then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking and Return to Kigali

After breakfast, you will go back to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey tracking. This activity involves walking through the forest to find and observe these rare monkeys. You will spend about one hour watching them in their natural habitat.

After the activity, you will return to the lodge, check out, and begin your journey back to Kigali.

Upon arrival, you will check in again at Kigali Serena Hotel, where you can relax and enjoy your final evening in Rwanda.

Day 5: Departure

On your last day, you will have breakfast at the hotel and enjoy a relaxed morning. Later, your guide will transfer you to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
